Six of our member couples braved a rainy weekend and still managed to have a great time.
Most of us arrived Thursday afternoon before the rain started up later that evening. We met at Kathy and Clennons coach for a meet and greet on Thursday at around 5:00 pm. Lots of snacks, drinks, and good conversation.
Friday most of us enjoyed a few hours of sunny skies by touring the park and the surrounding areas. We met up at a local restaurant, getting in just before the wind and the rain settled in. Luckily it was short lived and we got home without getting soaked. Some of the group set up at the shelter until late that evening, swapping stories, and getting to know some of our new members. The rain lasted all night - great for sleeping.
Saturday was overcast in the morning, but by noon the sun was out and we were moving around the campground visiting and enjoying the day. The shelter was reserved by another group but the campground work camper hosts set us up at their site with plenty of tables and chairs for our pot luck dinner and meeting. We enjoyed a good meal and enjoyed the evening. The meeting was short, but productive. Some of us stayed and lingered by the camp hosts firepit afterwards.
Sunday the rain held off so most of us were able to break camp and get on the road before the showers started up again.
