We all gathered in mid October 2023 for another great rally in Winston- Salem, NC at the Salem Breeze Campground. The owner, Robert Sells, who also owns the Cool Breeze Campground in Galax, VA, catered to our every need. His campgrounds are very well constructed and maintained, with long and level full hookup pull through sites and nice amenities, complete with large indoor rally areas.
The weather was good, except for a little rain on Friday night. This was expected and caused us to adjust our rally schedule around slightly. Instead of eating at the campground on Friday night we went out to dinner at a very nice nearby restaurant that Robert recommended, the Arcadia Family Restaurant. Our club has eaten there before. Always good food, lots of choices, and very good service and prices. Saturday night, Kirk Wells from the nearby Tiffin dealership, Campers Inn of Mocksville, cooked another great steak and chicken BBQ. He trailers in his mobile kitchen and brings all the food, plates, napkins, cups and cutlery, drinks, and cooks it all fresh. He is such a warm and friendly person, and he really enjoys feeding rally groups who come into the areas near the dealership. All sponsored by Campers Inn of Mocksville.
During the days everyone was free to explore the nearby areas, with some going to High Point, Lexington, downtown Winston-Salem - and some of us just staying at the campground and chatting with Robert. Another very good rally. We all agreed, we are coming back here next year!
